Captains Club is Woodberry’s chance to say thank you to the school’s most loyal and dedicated supporters —alumni, parents, or friends of the school who made a gift of at least $2,500 in the past year or have joined theWalker Society by designating a planned gift to Woodberry.
This year’s event featured an increased level of student involvement. Sixth formers Rhys Logan, Henry Rich, andTrevor Daniel, and fourth former Caleb Hodges — all leaders in the String Ensemble — formed a quartet for theevening and played in the Barbee Center’s lobby as guests arrived. Those guests were also greeted by members ofthe 1889 Society, a new group of fifth and sixth formers that assists the alumni and development office during majorschool events. And, as always, the Pipe and Drum Band called the crowd to dinner while wearing their Woodberrytartan before the Dozen closed the evening with a selection of songs, concluding with the singing of “Amici.”
